Painting Two Bridges In Rome

We spent a night in Rome last week, and Johnny was able to do two paintings while we were there. One on the day we arrived, and one early in the morning before we left the next day.

It was tough both days because it was really windy. The light was great, but keeping everything together in high winds was a chore! I apologize for any windy noise on the following videos.

I will let the photos and videos do the talking here...

A great spot to set up and paint.

That's St. Peter's Basilica in the background.

I love the looseness in this one.

Not quite done, but almost.

We set out early the next morning to beat the wind and crowds...
Another day, another bridge in Rome to paint.

Setting out color on the palette.

Sketching in the basic forms before the actual painting begins...

Not too many folks around, and the sun felt good.

Zeroing in on the subject matter.

A perfect spot to work.

Signed and finished.

It's another gem.

Cleaning up the palette to move on....

Looking forward to showing these works soon!
These paintings will be featured at a show in August at The Carmel Art Association.
We hope to see you there.
