We finally had some nice weather, so off to paint in the countryside. Light is so important, and after so many grey and wet days, it was good to get some work done.
This post features two separate outings...
It's still a sky full of clouds, but better than wet and grey.
We are in a very small "borgo" about 45 minutes from home. Preople live here, but there are no stores or bars or anything. There is, as you will soon see...a church.
Johnny sets up and paints while I sit and read.
Capturing the rooftops and the road in the distance.
A really lovely spot.
Enjoy the local sounds....
Finishing up.
A finished piece.
On another day, we headed over to a nature area at Lago di Montepulciano. Johnny has painted here before. It's a lovely spot, away from people this time of year. With all the rain we've had, there was lots of water in the lake and canals, and it's just so green.
Setting up to work.
A canal off the main lake.
Drawing in some lines.
It's a nice spot for a picnic or a hike, as well as painting.
It was a bit overcast as the day went on.
Finishing touches.
As I write this, it's May 25. Johnny has stopped painting and we've shipped the large canvases back home. We'll be heading back to California soon. It's been a good season of work, despite the weather challenges.
Stay tuned, as we will be posting information on upcoming exhibitions, etc.
